Mission & Service

The Mission and Service Commission provides the congregation with opportunities to serve people in our community and around the world.  It sponsors learning opportunities to heighten awareness of poverty, hunger, and matters of justice. It works with both local agencies and the national church in these efforts.

Our ministries include:

  • ELCA World Hunger and Lutheran World Relief

  • Bread for the World

  • God’s Work, Our Hands service weekend

  • Habitat for Humanity

  • Salvation Army homeless shelter

  • Senior fresh produce distribution (currently on hold)

  • Support for La Colima Elementary School, including after school Homework Club (currently on hold)

  • The Interfaith Food Center

  • The Saint Matthias Soup Hour
